Edythe Julius Shum was born on January 14, 1907 in Canton, China. She emigrated to America in 1921. Edythe married Silas Fung in Chicago, Illinois on June 23, 1930. She became a life insurance agent with Sun Life of Canada and was featured in the documentary Random Acts of Legacy (2016). Edythe passed away January 4, 2000, in Florida.
