“The Unwritten Code” is featured today at the State Theatre and reveals the shocking drama behind the barbed-wires of a prisoner of war camp. In the cast are Ann Savage, Tom Neal, Roland Varno and Howard Freeman.

The co-attraction is “Meet Miss Bobby Socks,” the jittering, jamming, jiving kid, who’ll put you hep to happiness. Bob Crosby and Lynn Merrick are the stars with featured players, Louise Erickson, Robert White, Howard Freeman, the Kim Loo Sisters and Louis Jordon and his Tympany Five. The picture is full of the youthful rhythm of the croon-swooning crowd and has Bob Crosby-giving forth with new hit tunes.

Laugh-Packed Musical Due Sunday at Stale
“Meet Miss Bobby Socks,” Columbia Pictures latest entry into film-musicals of youth and laughter, opens at the State Theatre on Sunday. Boasting an unusual cast of young feature players, it is said to be full of spoonin’, croonin’ and swoonin’.

The players are: Bob Crosby, Lynn Merrick, Louise Erickson, Robert White, Sally Bliss, Pat Parrlsh, Howard Freeman and the Kim Loo Sisters. The music is made by Louis Jordan and his Tympany Five. Glenn Tryon directed from the screen play of Muriel Roy Bolton.

Via the grapevine we hear that a top favorite with servicemen overseas are the Kim Loo Sisters. They appeared in several pictures before their connection with the USO “Light Fantastic Unit,” with which they are now touring the European Theatre of Operations.
